V80 Design Highlights
Maxus V80 2025 Updates
The Maxus V80 is an overgrown people carrier that is built more with commercial and institutional usage in mind than the average family. Its styling aims at utility, dependability and operational economy and it has been designed as a flexible people-mover for a wide range of use cases, from corporate logistics to staff and crew transport to school shuttles.
Maxus V80 Price in UAE
Minivan firms view them as budget-friendly options complementary to their fleet offerings. The entry-level iteration—the Bus 15-Seater—is priced at AED 95,000 in Abu Dhabi. Yes, even the 2.5L Passenger Van 15-seater 6-speed manual at the top of the heap carries an AED 95,000 price tag.
Maxus V80 Variants
The Maxus V80 comes in three basic variants, each designed to meet a different operational requirement. The vehicle is powered by a 2.5-litre diesel engine coupled with a manual transmission and is configured to carry 15 people — suiting it perfectly for regular shuttle runs.
If you need yet more capacity, you can stretch the same powertrain even further by adding three more fellow passengers to the Maxus V80 Bus 18-Seater for a denser arrangement. Finally, Maxus V80 2.5L Cargo Van 2-Seater 5-M/T removes the footer seat completely.
Maxus V80 Engine & Performance
Under the hood of the Maxus V80 lies a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine engineered by VM Motori—an Italian diesel engine specialist with a history of producing robust powertrains. This engine delivers 136 horsepower and generates a healthy torque figure of 330 Nm, making it well-suited to the van’s people-hauling duties.
Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual as standard and a 6-speed mechanical automatic in select markets. Please note that the V80’s manual trim will return significantly better mileage than the automatic variant.
Maxus V80 Safety
From a safety standpoint, the V80’s feature list reflects its commercial orientation. It isn’t overloaded with advanced driver assistance systems, but it does cover the basics. Standard equipment includes an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) paired with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), rear parking sensors to aid with maneuverability, and front airbags for both the driver and co-passenger.
Three-point seatbelts are provided in the front row, while the rear rows make do with two-point lap belts.
Maxus V80 Features & Specifications
In terms of features, the Maxus V80 keeps things utilitarian but functional. It includes a factory-fitted audio head unit with USB, Bluetooth, and Aux-In support, allowing drivers to stream audio and navigation instructions through a four-speaker system.
Why choose the Maxus V80?
When lined up against established rivals such as the Nissan Urvan and the Toyota Hiace, the Maxus V80 carves its niche with a pragmatic value proposition. It does, however, come with one catch—it’s offered exclusively with a manual transmission.
That might not sit well with private buyers hoping to use it as a large family mover. But from the perspective of fleet operators or shuttle service providers, this setup actually makes more sense, since it might result in lower maintenance over a period of time.

Maxus V80 Expert Review
Abhishek Katariya says
The commercial van segment has a number of options. Maxus is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and the V80 is available in both passenger and cargo versions. Maxus is a relatively new entrant to this segment and is eyeing to capture a sizeable part of the Emirates market. The Maxus 80 comes in multiple versions and caters to a wide range of purposes. The vehicle was last updated in 2021 and has since largely remained unchanged.
Interior
Commercial people-movers aren't meant to be premium or luxurious and the cabin of the 2024 Maxus V80 is on similar lines. The interior build quality is robust and can handle the rigors of daily use since the van is targeted at aggregators and fleet operators. The cabin is mostly grey with some use of soft-touch materials. Hard plastics have been abundantly used in the cabin to increase its durability. The switches are chunky and easily accessible from the driver's seat. They are easy to operate. Passenger vans usually have very basic audio systems and it's the same for the 2024 Maxus V80. It comes only with a proprietary radio system that supports Bluetooth and auxiliary-in connectivity. The unit is connected to a four-speaker sound system. Audio output is average.
Exterior
The 2024 Maxus V80 has a typical van-like styling and the company has never changed its appearance. The van itself is shaped like a huge rectangle with a short nose at the front. The halogen headlights are large and are paired with daytime running lights (DRLs). The 2024 Maxus V80 also gets large, electrically adjustable side mirrors. The vehicle comes with a separate blind-spot mirror that aids in parallel parking. The oversized functional grille helps to cool the engine. The van has a sliding door only on its right side and it runs on 16-inch alloy wheels with an electric step-board. It opens automatically and is a huge advantage during ingress and egress, particularly for senior citizens. At the back, there are two large doors that swing out. The bulb-type taillights are vertically stacked. There's a fog light at the back and also a third brake light. Overall, the 2024 Maxus V80 even with its unexciting looks, makes for an imposing van.
Ride & Handling
The cabin of the 2024 Maxus V80 is spacious because of its tall boxy shape. Finding the right driving position could be a challenge for shorter people. The driver's seat lacks a height adjustment feature. There's a lot of room to move around the cabin, making it easier for people to shuffle comfortably. The large windows make the cabin airy. The fabric seats are nicely padded and come with decent back support. The seats are reclinable and get enough legroom. The headroom is huge. The air-conditioning is quick and cools the cabin pretty fast. The suspension is a bit on the harder side like most passenger vans but pretty much absorbs most of the bumps.
Engine & Fuel Consumption
The 2024 Maxus V80 18-seater van is hauled by a turbocharged, four-cylinder, 2.5-litre diesel engine that produces 134 PS/330 Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed manual. Power delivery is smooth and the van is always eager to pull further at the higher-end of the rev range. Despite being a big van, the Maxus V80 is surprisingly easy to handle. But the engine does have cooling issues.
Braking & Safety
Being a commercial vehicle, the 2024 Maxus V80 doesn't have much in terms of safety equipment. Antilock braking comes as standard, along with rear parking sensors, three-point seatbelts for the front passengers, and two-point seatbelts for the rear seats. Only the driver and front passenger get airbags, which is common among most commercial vans. A rear camera would have helped in parking, considering the size of the van.
Verdict
The 2024 Maxus V80 is a bit high priced compared to its rivals. It may appear expensive to individual buyers. As a shuttle, there's nothing to complain about the van. It's a well-balanced vehicle and offers a comfortable traveling experience.
